{"id":37,"date":"2010-05-19T08:45:57","date_gmt":"2010-05-19T15:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faculty.camosun.ca\/martinbuck\/?p=37"},"modified":"2010-05-19T08:45:57","modified_gmt":"2010-05-19T15:45:57","slug":"social-media-pd-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/legacy.lwebs.ca\/index.php\/social-media-pd-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Media PD Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On May 19th I attended a college sponsored professional development event on &#8216;<a title=\"Social networking seminar\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lern.org\/edctr\/in_person\/spring_seminar\/index.cfm\">creating your niche with social media&#8217;<\/a>.\u00a0 Tools covered included\u00a0\u00a0Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogs and\u00a0YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>While I am familiar with and make use of all of the above tools, the most valuable part of the eminar was the information shared on how different generations use social networking tools. It became clear that the millenials, those born between 1980-1995 (or 2000),\u00a0 have some very different demands from their colleges.
