These skills are defined as &#8220;the skills that people need for work, learning and life. They are used in the community and the workplace, in different forms and at different levels of complexity.&#8221;\u00a0See\u00a0\u00a0<a title=\"What are Essential Skills?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hrsdc.gc.ca\/eng\/workplaceskills\/essential_skills\/what_are_essential_skills.shtml\">this link<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p>The government is working to link the above essential skills ot specific occupations as identified by the <a title=\"National Occupational Classification Matrix 2006\" href=\"http:\/\/www5.hrsdc.gc.ca\/noc\/english\/noc\/2006\/html\/Matrix.html\">National Occupational Classification<\/a>.
