Let&#8217;s start out with what are OERs?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open educational resources (OER)<\/strong> are digital materials that can be re-used for teaching, learning, research and more, made available for free through <a title=\"Open license\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Open_license\">open licenses<\/a>, which allow uses of the materials that would not be easily permitted under <a title=\"Copyright\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Copyright\">copyright<\/a> alone.<sup><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Open_educational_resources#cite_note-0\">[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>A key part of OERs is that they are available under a <a title=\"Creative Commons link \" href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Commons License<\/a> which permits the re-use and even re-mixing of educational resources.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of repositories available providing a range of resources from <a title=\"What are learning objects?\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Learning_object\" target=\"_blank\">learning objects<\/a> through to complete courses.
